We are proud to announce that our paper 'Privacy-Preserving Federated Learning for Community Healthcare Networks' received the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) 2026 — one of the most competitive venues in AI research.

The paper introduces a novel federated learning protocol that enables joint model training across hospital networks without any raw patient data leaving local premises. The approach uses differential privacy guarantees and communication-efficient aggregation, achieving state-of-the-art performance on disease prediction benchmarks.

This recognition highlights DISAL's commitment to building AI systems that are not only technically rigorous but also ethically grounded and directly applicable to real-world healthcare challenges across Africa.
